Where Does Tai Hafan Floating Support Cover?

Tai Hafan offers outreach and floating support services. Our floating support is targeted at vulnerable women of all ages, both those with children and single women, and we can support older women and those living in rural areas.

What Does Tai Hafan Floating Support Provide?

Tai Hafan offers floating support to vulnerable women, with or without children, in their own homes. Project Co-ordinators are employed for each floating support scheme and they provide an individually tailored package of support to each service user and to her children, if she has any.

What Are The Aims Of Tai Hafan’s Floating Support Service?

We offer a holistic approach to the provision of support to women with a wide range of needs – including women who have experienced physical, sexual or psychological abuse; women recovering their mental health; ex-offenders; substance abusers; care leavers; older women. Our structured support package enables women and their children to develop the skills and confidence needed to assist with their own recovery and ensure that they can maintain themselves in an independent home within the community.

The support service addresses three main areas – emotional needs, practical needs and additional support needs and our Project Co-ordinators ensure that all relevant agencies are included in the package of support provided to each service user. All staff work from a common value base, are trained in counselling and active listening and have skills, experience and knowledge in a wide variety of areas.

How Long Does Floating Support Last?

All support is offered on an individual basis, so the length of time someone can be supported varies. Normally the support starts fairly intensively – 1 or 2 visits a week – and will then become less frequent as the individual service user becomes more self-confident.

How Much Support Does Tai Hafan Provide In Floating Support Schemes?

Our floating support service has been developed primarily for women high or medium support needs. The level of support given to service users will normally be individually negotiated between them and their Project Co-ordinators, depending on their needs. An out-of-hours service is available for emergencies.
